Pakistan is not on Saudi Arabia’s standard eVisa country list, but a Pakistani passport holder who holds a valid UK, US or Schengen visit visa, or permanent residence in the UK, USA or EU, can apply for the Saudi tourist eVisa or get a visa on arrival (Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa platform, ksavisa.sa). Umrah is allowed on this visa outside the Hajj season, with a permit booked in the Nusuk app; Hajj is not.
That makes it the simplest way for a Pakistani living in Britain or America to perform Umrah, or to meet parents who travel from Pakistan on an Umrah package.
With a UK, US or Schengen visa, or UK/US/EU residence
| Your situation | Saudi tourist eVisa or visa on arrival? |
|---|---|
| Pakistani passport with a valid UK, US or Schengen visit visa | Yes (official eligibility) |
| Pakistani passport with permanent residence in the UK, USA or an EU country | Yes (official eligibility) |
| Pakistani passport with a GCC residence permit | eVisa: yes (official eligibility) |
| Pakistani passport with a time-limited UK or US permit (student, work) | Not stated on the official pages; check on ksavisa.sa before you book |
| Pakistani passport only, living in Pakistan | No; Umrah goes through a licensed operator on Nusuk Masar |
Some older guidance (2023) says a UK, US or Schengen visa must already have been used once to enter that country; the official Saudi pages we checked on 7 October 2026 do not say so, but carry proof of a previous entry to be safe.
If you live in the UAE or another Gulf country
| You hold | Route to Umrah |
|---|---|
| Pakistani passport + UAE residence valid at least 3 months | Saudi tourist eVisa for GCC residents, then an Umrah permit in the Nusuk app |
| Pakistani passport + residence in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait or Bahrain | The same GCC-resident eVisa (for Saudi residents, Umrah needs only the Nusuk permit) |
| First-degree relatives or domestic workers travelling with a GCC resident | Can also apply, according to a 2023 law-firm summary; check the portal |
| Pakistani passport, living in Pakistan | Umrah visa through a licensed operator on Nusuk Masar, with a hotel contract (requirements) |

Performing Umrah on the tourist visa
Saudi Arabia’s visa platform says Umrah is permitted on the tourist visa, and Visit Saudi says it cannot be used during the Hajj season; Umrah and Rawdah permits are booked in the Nusuk app. Hajj always needs a Hajj visa. Since July 2026 there is also a separate one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa booked through Nusuk providers (see Umrah visa requirements).
The Umrah permit and the Hajj-season block
On any tourist visa you book the Umrah permit (and the Rawdah visit in Madinah) in the Nusuk app. Around Hajj, Umrah stops: in 2026 Nusuk Umrah permits were suspended from 18 April to 31 May, and holders of visas other than Hajj visas could not enter or stay in Makkah from 18 April. Saudi Arabia has not yet announced the 2027 window, but expect a similar break before Hajj 1448.
For Umrah visas issued through Nusuk providers, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s 1448 calendar runs to a last visa issue on 9 March 2027, last entry on 23 March 2027 and final departure on 7 April 2027.
Meet your parents in Makkah
A common plan for British and American Pakistani families: your parents travel from Pakistan on an Umrah package (visa through a licensed operator, flights from Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi), and you fly in on your tourist eVisa to join them. We arrange your parents’ Umrah from Pakistan and can put everyone in the same hotel; tell us your dates on WhatsApp. See also Umrah for parents, and Umrah on a Saudia stopover if you fly home through Jeddah.
